Compressed air, like electricity, has such a vast field of use that sometimes could be difficult to
summarize its applications. In brief, the quality of the air required by the production processes
selects two types of medium pressure compressors (from 4 to 10 bar): lubricated compressors and
oil-free compressors. The lubricated compressors find the widest use and, in most cases, are
driven by electric motors whose power is included in a range between a few units of Kw
(compressors for tire shops, road service stations and more …) and the most demanding
applications (cement producers, or cement factories and producers of tires for cars and/or
industrial and agricultural machines…). Oil-free compressors find the widest (almost universal)
application in the various sectors , such as: dental technology, pharmaceuticals, food, paper,
aeronautics, textiles and large distribution lines. The powers involved in machines intended for
these sectors are between 3 kW (dental technician sector, various laboratories) up to 900 kW .
Both types of compressors are divided into: reciprocating piston compressors and rotary screw
compressors. Over 900 Kw, by machine, centrifugal compressors find a more widespread use,
dynamic with continuous flow. RIEM ITALY operates successfully in ITALY and abroad with the
maintenance and marketing of machines of various BRANDS among the most prestigious and
representative such as: CECCATO, GARDNER DENVER, COMPAIR, CHEMPION, ROBUSCHI. What
RIEM ITALY has to offer is considered interesting because is divided into various proposals ranging
from the rental to new and/or used compressors sales and overhauled at zero hours. In recent
years there has been a significant increase in the sale of used and overhauled zero-hour
compressors. This aspect, which is not reflected in historical precedents, is probably due to the
more insistent and unavoidable need for savings on the part of the various operators, whether
small, medium or large. This condition, according to analysts, is determined by the increase in raw
materials, transport and energy with consequent increases in production costs
